Maynard Street, SFE#2

The need to have proper housing for the newly purchased steam fire engine “Albert” and a need for a dedicated building for the crew lead to the construction of the Maynard St fire house, referred to as SFE#2 for "Steam Fire Engine #2. Located on Maynard facing Gerrish, this house shared the site with a police station for the North End of the city. This house would remain in operation until 1896.
