• Peter was the Halifax Professional Firefighters' Union president in the mid-seventies, and we owe him and his executive the 24-hour-on, 72-hour-off shift that Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency enjoy today. At the time, the shift was one day on (24 hours) and two days off. Peter had a long career and saw many transformations during his time as a firefighter.
